Graduates
You may have missed out on Get Hired 09 but we are still happy to share our tips for attending recruitment fairs;
And be sure to register for the Graduates for Business programme - graduatesforbusiness programme.
1. Take your CV
One to One CV Clinics will be running all day, bring along a paper copy of your CV and you can get help and advice from the Entrust GFB team.
If your happy with your CV, then make sure to bring plenty of copies to hand to the companies you talk to.
2. Dress well
Dressing smart for a recruitment fair is something that’s often over looked, but an ironed shirt can go a long way towards impressing your future employer.
3. Research
Have a look at the exhibitors list and see who you would like to talk to before the day. Now go and Google them! It’s always impressive to a potential employer if you know a bit about them. It will also make it easier to converse with companies on the day.
4. Ask questions
Be pro-active about finding a job and get the most out of the fair by asking companies questions and showing enthusiasm. Think about the questions you want to ask beforehand so that you don’t feel uncomfortable approaching exhibitors.
5. Find out what they are looking for
Ask companies what it is they are looking for in their perfect candidate, then tell them about the best bits of your qualifications and experience that meet that profile. Simple!
